Web-based platforms such as email marketing are becoming more credible, an expert has suggested. Tom Sommers, president of Target Internet Marketing, has claimed that "credibility, authority and usage are migrating" from offline mediums towards online channels in the eyes of many of the public. He made the comment while discussing new report from the Pew Research Center which highlighted that a number of people now use the internet rather than newspapers to learn about important events. The expert also suggested that the emergence of platforms such as video has helped the cause of the internet. The number of video users will grow over twice as fast as overall internet penetration in the next five years," he added. ExactTarget’s 2009 Marketing Almanac recently suggested that the use of emerging mediums such as text message may also become important to growing businesses in the near future. read more
