Celebrity Apprentice winner Bret Michaels will make a surprise cameo on the American Idol season finale, a source tells TVGuide. Michaels, 47, beat Holly Robinson Peete for the title of Celebrity Apprentice on the show’s live finale Sunday. The Poison frontman is currently receiving outpatient care and was seen walking with a slight limp on Sunday’s Celebrity Apprentice finale. KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — A British military blog reported Monday that Canadians and Americans were among more than a dozen coalition troops wounded in a Taliban rocket attack at the Kandahar Airfield, but the International Security Assistance Force is disputing that. The blog quoted Senior Aircraftsman Eric Telford, 24, from 2nd Squadron of the Royal Air Force, as saying he rushed to the site of the attack and applied a tourniquet to a wounded female Canadian soldier. The blog entry was later removed after ISAF said it was posted without proper approval and contained some incorrect information. Scott Costen said the number wounded and their nationalities was inaccurate, but he declined to provide the correct information. The Canadian Forces also has a policy against releasing information about wounded troops. For security reasons, journalists at Kandahar Airfield are prevented from reporting where the rockets landed — it’s part of their embedment agreement with the military. read more

I doubt a single Seasider will care to be honest – the ones I’ve spoken to fully expect to come straight back down and are just relishing a season back in the big time. I only hope their expectations don’t change between now and the new season because Burnley proved last term that it is nigh-on impossible for a club of that size, and with that sort of budget, to survive in the Premier League. Blackpool, like Burnley, will budget for one year only in the Premier League, they will spend little on transfers or wages and the season will almost certainly result in relegation. Personally I don’t think this is a bad way of approaching the top flight – Blackpool would need to spend a massive amount of money to ensure survival and Hull are a stark reminder of what can happen when you do that. Stoke won few friends in their first Premier League season and hoardes of supporters from the big clubs will comment on this blog urging Blackpool not to copy the style favoured by my team. read more
