Nebraska-Omaha got back into the hockey game in the second period, spending most of it on the power play and cutting into Michigan’s lead. The result is a fighting penalty to Max Pacioretty, who will have to sit out the next Michigan game, whether that’s Sunday’s Game 3 or next Friday’s CCHA semifinal. Another kill for the Wolverines, but all of the penalties have allowed Nebraska-Omaha to stay in a game and in a series that it really has no business in. As much as it enjoys playing at Yost Ice Arena, the University of Michigan hockey team wants to make tonight the final home game it plays this season in its historic barn. read more
