Back in November 2007 at a Camp Obama training in Nashville, we were charged with the responsibility of going back to our communities to make change by empowering others and bringing new people into politics. We shared stories of what had driven us to support Obama and went through an organizing process that slowly set into motion not only the new relationships that would ultimately work to see Obama win, but new relationships that ultimately will be there to help implement the change we hope to see after Obama wins in November. The next several months seemed like a whirlwind as I’ve enjoyed the incredible great pleasure of finding myself in this journey with so many new friends who all believe so passionately that our country is hungry, starved for change. And by change we meant change in its direction and in its politics, away from the divisive and distracting politics as usual garble that only distracts us from solving problems. Barack Obama is inspiring thousands to get involved for the first time, to volunteer and work for change. Please join the other Chattanoogans for Obama at an area event while we’re in Denver this week and help us bring the change we all want to see! read more
